Gizem Kadıoğlu has been awarded a Doc.CH grant by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), which supports promising humanities and social science researchers pursuing doctoral studies in Switzerland on topics of their choice. Gizem's project, titled "Towards The Roadmap of Engaging With Counterfactuals In Qualitative Research: Using Counterfactuals for Theory-Building In Management and Entrepreneurship Studies," aims to explore the role of counterfactuals as a methodological tool in qualitative research within the fields of management and entrepreneurship.
By reviewing current practices, the project seeks to demonstrate the various ways of engaging with counterfactuals and the benefits of employing them in different stages of qualitative theory building. The study will provide valuable insights for qualitative researchers when designing, conducting, and writing up their research for scientific discovery as well as for reviewers, editors and readers.
